Alex Kautz graduated magna cum laude from Berklee College of Music and later received a scholarship to pursue graduate study at the Aaron Copland School of Music. He is on the faculty at the New School and Mannes, and released his debut album as a leader, Where We Begin, on Sunnyside Records in 2024.
