Formed in 2004 by singer-songwriter Ryan Adams, The Cardinals served as Adams' backing band and released/played on recordings including Cold Roses, Jacksonville City Nights and Cardinology. The lineup recorded and toured through 2009 (collaborating with Willie Nelson) and the group was revived with a new lineup in 2023. The band has notable members such as Neal Casal, Brad Pemberton and Chris Feinstein, and figures prominently in Adams' mid-2000s output.
