Formed by saxophonist/arranger Ed Palermo in 1977, the ensemble expanded from a small group into a long-running big band. The band gained international attention for Palermo’s intricate arrangements of Frank Zappa’s music and has released multiple albums since the 1980s. They have held notable New York residencies (including The Bottom Line and the Iridium) and toured internationally.
