Fashion formed in Birmingham in 1978 and initially released material on their own Fàshiön Music label, issuing the debut album Product Perfect in 1979. They evolved into a synth-driven new wave/synth-pop outfit, reached the UK Top 10 with Fabrique (1982), placed several singles on the UK charts, supported major acts such as The Police and U2, and briefly reactivated the name for a 2009 release, Stairway to Nowhere.
