About
FEMME has just released her gloriously addictive new single High on October 6. It follows the success of Fever Boy, which was released last November to considerable acclaim? playlisted on BBC 6Music and selected as iTunes’ Track of the Week in both Mexico and Brazil.
FEMME has performed everywhere from London and Manchester to Barcelona and Coachella festival this year, while also supporting Grouplove on their recent UK tour. Her live show has obviously been making waves, as Charli XCX personally invited FEMME to support her on her North American tour, throughout September and
October.
It seems FEMME only ever pauses to pick up awards? she won the International Emerging Talent award at the MUSEXPO Awards in LA earlier this year, and the Rising Star award at the London Music Awards in June, as well as being nominated as ‘Hardest Working Artist’ at the AIM awards. More recently FEMME earned the PRS For Music Foundations Momentum Fund, along with BPI’s Music Export Growth Scheme. This shows the huge support that FEMME has from all the major institutions related to music in the UK, including PPL (priority artist), PRS, AIM, UKTI & BPI. and along with the awards there has been lots of recognition for FEMME as an artist, songwriter, producer and performer.
Those plaudits have been hardearned. Described as “a onewoman powerhouse” by Radio 1’s Annie Mac, FEMME is a onestop shop of creativity, recording, mixing, producing and performing all of her tracks herself? plus directing, producing and editing all of her own music videos, which have been premiered by the likes of Noisey, Spin and Dummy. FEMME also choreographs all the moves for her Bullet Girls dancers, as well as styling their outfits, demonstrating an eye for design that has had the fashion press swooning with features in Vogue, Nylon, POP and Glamour (she’s also soundtracked two Stella McCartney collections and an Adidas NEO advert starring, of all people, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez).
