She began by busking and fronting bands before releasing solo records from 2016 onward. Her 2019 album Mississippi Blend peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums and 2023's Shout Sister Shout! reached No. 2; during the COVID-19 pandemic she developed a one-woman-band setup and has since toured widely, including major festivals.
