Founded in 2013 by Amanda Foreman and Lucas Wittmann, House of SpeakEasy is a nonprofit that produces the 'Seriously Entertaining' literary cabaret at Joe’s Pub, maintains a podcast and YouTube channel, and operates the SpeakTogether in the Schools program. The organization also runs the SpeakEasy Bookmobile, has presented Pulitzer- and Man Booker–shortlisted authors, and distributes thousands of free books to under-resourced communities.
