Jerry Weldon graduated from the Rutgers University Jazz Studies program and joined the Lionel Hampton Orchestra in 1981. In 1990 he became a charter member and featured soloist with Harry Connick Jr.'s big band and later served in the house band on Connick's TV show HARRY (2016–2018). He leads his own groups and has released multiple albums as a leader, including the live album The Summit.
