María Fernanda González Olivo (Mafer Bandola) is a bandola llanera virtuosa, composer, educator and co-founder of the international collective LADAMA; she won the Pedro Flores International Bandola Llanera Festival female competition in 2018 and has performed at venues and festivals including TED, WOMEX and NPR’s Tiny Desk. Based in New York, she organizes Pipiris Nights, leads educational residencies (including work with Carnegie Hall’s Lullaby Project) and has received multiple residencies, grants and a place in the 2025–2026 Joe’s Pub Working Group.
