Mark Dresser is a Grammy-nominated double bassist, composer, and improviser who has appeared on and led well over one hundred albums. He is Professor of Music at the University of California, San Diego and has composed and recorded original scores for silent films; his quintet released the album Nourishments (Clean Feed) in 2013. Dresser received a Shifting Foundation Award and a Doris Duke Impact Award in 2015.
