Matthew Welch (born 1976) is an American bagpiper and composer who leads the ensemble Blarvuster and has released recordings on labels including Leo and Tzadik. He holds a DMA from Yale and has presented works and a sold-out opera at venues such as National Sawdust and The Stone. Welch authored A New Compleat Theory for the Highland Bagpipe and performed with the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band during their World Championship wins.
