Australian-born saxophonist Nick Hempton relocated to New York City and formed the Nick Hempton Band in 2005. He has released multiple albums including Nick Hempton Band (2009), The Business (Posi-Tone, 2011), Odd Man Out (Posi-Tone, 2013) and the Catch and Release project (released track-by-track in 2015–2016). Hempton is a regular on the NYC jazz scene (Smalls, Zinc Bar, Fat Cat), has toured internationally, and has received praise from DownBeat and NYC Jazz Record.
