Trumpeter Omar Kabir (born February 17, 1969) co-founded the Freedom Art Quartet in 1991 and has released recordings both as a leader and with the group. He has performed and recorded with ensembles including David Murray, Charlie Haden's Liberation Orchestra and the Hugh Ragin Trumpet Ensemble, and served as musical director for Cirque du Soleil in Germany.
