One Seven Eight Product grew out of long-running rehearsal sessions beneath the former Max Fish Bar at 178 Ludlow Street and moved above ground after collaborative sessions beginning in 2012. The project evolved from a large 13-piece collective into a tighter 4–5 member unit focused on improvised, on-the-spot compositions and has released recordings and performed around New York City venues in recent years.
