Italian-born guitarist Pasquale Grasso relocated to New York City in 2012 and developed a pianistic, single-guitar solo approach that gained rapid attention. He won the 2015 Wes Montgomery International Jazz Guitar Competition, signed with Sony Masterworks (recording a series of solo EPs and albums including Pasquale Plays Duke), and was a contributing musician on Samara Joy’s Grammy-winning album Linger Awhile. In 2024 he was named a Rising Star guitarist by DownBeat and maintains a busy performance and teaching schedule in New York.
