Rocketship was formed in 1993 and is led by songwriter Dusty (Dustin) Reske. The band released the single "Hey, Hey, Girl" (1994) and the album A Certain Smile, a Certain Sadness (1996) on Slumberland Records; the original lineup later dissolved and Reske continued Rocketship largely as a solo project. A 30th?anniversary reissue of A Certain Smile, a Certain Sadness and a related tour were announced in 2026.
