Sarah Katherine Lawless is a Ridgewood-based indie folk artist paring a cinematic sense for composition with a knack for vivid, diaristic storytelling. Her debut EP, "Look What I’m Learning!" , is a coming-of-age story that closely mirrors an intense period of personal fluctuations in Sarah Katherine’s life upon moving to NYC, and a showcase of hard-fought emotional release as she grew into the most authentic version of herself.
Each track on her EP tells a story on two levels: one from Sarah Katherine’s winsome narrative delivery; the other from the understated second narrator found within the lush, self-arranged harmonies, nuanced instrumental cues, and intensely vast soundscapes cultivated alongside rising Brooklyn-based producer Ben Coleman (Susannah Joffe, Laura Elliot, Farrah Hanna) and Rain Johannes + Joe Ippolito of The Goose Room.
Sarah Katherine is currently recording her sophomore EP, which will feature six new original tracks produced by Jake Aron (Snailmail, Lutalo, Chloe Moriondo, Sarah Kinsley), BAERD (Jack Van Cleaf, Angela Autumn), and Jack Harrington (Shallow Alcove, buffchick).
