Shabazz Palaces is an experimental hip-hop duo based out of Seattle that consists of Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler (Digable Planets) and Tendai "Baba" Maraire. Shabazz Palaces are the first hip-hop act signed to the Sub Pop label. Their first album Black Up was released in 2011 followed by Lese Majesty three years later.
