Slinger Francisco, known professionally as The Mighty Sparrow (often shortened to Sparrow), rose to international fame in the 1950s with hit recordings such as "Jean and Dinah." Over a decades-long career he won numerous Carnival Road March and Monarch competition titles and has received honors including an OBE and honorary degrees.
