The Shrine Big Band is a 16-piece ensemble formed as the house big band at The Shrine in Harlem and has held a regular monthly residency there since around 2010. Led by Eric Plaks and Jon Panikkar with music director James Rogers, the group recorded the album Swamp Music on October 28, 2012 (hours before Hurricane Sandy) and has released the recording through Bandcamp/Darkfyre.
