About
Local legend and Stranger patron Ted Stragner says: "Who is your favorite band? The Stranger sounds more or less like that, combined with that group you always wanted to check out because your most musically aware friend, the one who is always one step ahead of you, constantly references them in passing conversation like you are a complete miscreant for not already having all of their albums." ..................Would you call The Stranger trailblazers, Ted?.................. "If I tended to answer inane questions with stupid responses, then absolutely." ...............What does The Stranger believe in, Ted? What do they stand for?.................. "If I were to say arterial sclerosis and a slow, painful death would you label me ironic or crazy?"................... Give it to us straight, Ted, you incredible bastard................... "You have four young men, each harkening from a different musical background, each expecting something different from the group. At any given moment, one man fantasizes he is in the greatest performance act of the last half century, while another is utterly suicidal at the idea of performing one more measure. One man seeks your happily given physical pleasures while another would rather castrate you and dance with you as a eunuch until the end of the evening."......................... The Stranger is truly strange, are they not Ted?...................... "They are you and I, and exist only so long as we bother to notice."
