About
Founded by Ryan Easter in 2014, The Trap Music Orchestra is a large jazz-orchestra project composed largely of students and alumni that arranges contemporary trap repertoire for big-band and orchestral lineup. The ensemble has released tracks on compilations (Heavy Rotation Records’ Dorm Sessions 11) and maintained a busy live schedule with performances and residencies at venues including The Jazz Gallery. The group is noted for translating modern hip-hop/trap material into arranged, improvisation-forward orchestral performances.
