About
Three Anniversaries in Song is a concert program presented by the Yiddish Philharmonic Chorus that celebrates three milestones: 250 years since the U.S. Declaration of Independence, 150 years since the birth of Yiddish poet Avrom Reisen, and 125 years since the birth of Yiddish poet Itzik Manger. Music director Binyumen Schaechter leads newly arranged Yiddish settings (including several world premieres) and the program features Yiddish versions of songs such as Woody Guthrie’s "This Land Is Your Land" and Neil Diamond’s "America."
