Zealous Angles is the recorded documentation of pianist/composer Matt Mitchell’s long-running trio with bassist Chris Tordini and drummer Dan Weiss; the album Zealous Angles was released on Pi Recordings on August 16, 2024. Mitchell and the trio have been active for over a decade (the group appeared on Mitchell’s 2015 Pi release Vista Accumulation), and Mitchell is a recipient of a Doris Duke Impact Award (2015) and a Pew Fellowship (2012).
