Mei Semones

Brooklyn-based guitarist and singer-songwriter Mei Semones crafts a singular sonic world where English and Japanese lyrics intertwine with a sweetly evocative blend of jazz, bossa nova, indie pop, and rock. At just 25, Semones has already developed a lush, genre-fluid sound—equal parts playful and emotionally expansive. Her debut album Animaru reveals a striking musical instinct for crafting intimate yet soaring songs, rich in texture and feeling. Join us for her Lincoln Center debut, as part of Festival of Firsts, and step into her radiant, genre-defying universe.
