Dani Turner has never had trouble commanding a room. The lead singer of original rock outfit Mister Sister, a seasoned performer with the Sterling Band — one of the city’s more celebrated wedding ensembles — & a Berklee Music graduate, Turner brings a kind of lived-in authority to whatever stage she occupies. Her voice doesn't ask for the room's attention. It receives it.
Behind her stands Pespi — a Connecticut high school band turned Brooklyn outfit — led by singer-songwriter Harrison Watters and anchored by the Falcone brothers, Robert and Matthew, rhythm section, composers & managers of NYC rock band Blonde Otter. Together they form a dynamic and versatile backing force, equally at home behind an original as they are deep into a Cranberries cover at last call.
Regulars at Red Lion & pubs across the tristate area, Turner and Pespi bring a catalog that ranges from Paramore to Fleetwood Mac to 90s alternative staples, all delivered with the looseness of a band that has been playing together long enough to stop thinking about it.
