Hailed a ”virtuoso on clarinet and saxophone,” (New York Times) Peter Anderson was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, where he was mentored by saxophonist, Texas-native Paul Carr. He then attended Juilliard in New York City, where he currently resides. Peter’s expertise has made him a saxophonist of choice for Wynton Marsalis, Jimmy Heath, the Village Vanguard Orchestra, Wycliffe Gordon, Michael Feinstein and the New York City Ballet. Co-leading his ensemble with his brother Will, they’ve performed at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Iridium, Symphony Space, Blues Alley, East Coast Jazz Fest, Mid-Atlantic Jazz Fest, New Jersey Jazz Society, Pennsylvania Jazz Society, 54 Below, Highlights in Jazz, Buck-Hill Skytop Music Fest, Treetops Music Fest, Central Illinois Jazz Fest, Jacob Burns Film Center, and the Louis Armstrong House. Peter and Will have produced and performed in three highly-acclaimed off-broadway jazz show runs at 59E59 Theaters in 2010-2013, honoring Artie Shaw, Dorsey Brothers, and Jazz in France. These shows broke attendance and sales box office records at 59E59. Peter and Will are featured in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and on the Grammy-winning soundtrack with Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks, with whom they frequently perform. Vanity Fair magazine listed their debut album, Correspondence, featuring Kenny Barron, alongside Miles Davis in “Four New Releases to Make You Love Jazz,” and the Washington Post called their music “imaginatively unfolding in ways that consistently bring a fresh perspective to classic jazz.” Peter and Will received a 2014 Drama Desk nomination for their Off-Broadway Production, Le Jazz Hot (one of seven productions at 59E59 Theaters), and in 2018 were Bistro Award winners. Their 2014 album, Deja Vu, was called “a burner that reveals the band’s cohesiveness and spirit” (JazzTimes). Last year, the Andersons raised $25,000 to establish the Joe Temperley Juilliard Student Scholarship Fund and tribute album in honor of their late great saxophone mentor. Peter and Will are teaching artists through Juilliard’s Nord-Anglia program, conducting school workshops in Orlando, Charlotte, Washington D.C. and Chicago. They’ve lectured at over 100 high schools countrywide and Universities including Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida State, Temple, Xavier, Scranton, South Florida, Lenoir-Rhyne, Central Oklahoma, Jacksonville and in Nagasaki, Japan.
Willie Applewhite, trombonist, composer, and arranger, is emerging as an important voice in the world of jazz performance and education. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, his musical studies brought him to The Institute for Jazz Studies at The Juilliard School in New York City, where he currently resides. From working as both a band leader and an in-demand side man, Willie Applewhite is becoming a fixture in the New York music scene.
Since moving to New York in 2001, Frank Basile has been fortunate to establish himself as one of today's most in-demand baritone saxophonists.
Dubbed a "prized sideman" by The New Yorker, Basile has been called upon to perform with, record with, and tour the world with many of jazz's finest musicians and ensembles. Among this distinguished list are The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, The Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band, The Jimmy Heath Big Band, The Bob Mintzer Big Band, The Jon Faddis Jazz Orchestra, The Joe Lovano Nonet, The Dave Holland Big Band, Dennis Mackrel's Manhattan Symphony Jazz Orchestra, The Christian McBride Big Band, The Count Basie Orchestra, Michael Bublé, Pablo Mayor’s Folklore Urbano, The Richie Vitale Quintet, The Fabien Mary Quintet, and The Osian Roberts-Steve Fishwick Sextet.
Born in Illinois in 1978 and raised in Nebraska, Frank Basile began his musical studies in grade school. After four years on clarinet and alto saxophone, he made a permanent switch to the baritone saxophone. Once in high school, Basile’s interest in jazz began to grow and, with the help and encouragement of his parents, he sought out further instruction on the ins and outs of this great music. Basile was soon playing in numerous big bands and combos throughout the Omaha area.
Basile enrolled at the University of North Texas to continue his musical studies. While at UNT, Basile played in the world-renowned One O’clock Lab Band for six consecutive semesters. After graduating with honors and a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from UNT, Basile moved to New York in the summer of 2001 as a selected member of the first Jazz Studies program at the Juilliard School.
As an educator, Basile has maintained a private studio for the past decade and has served as an adjunct faculty member at The New School. He has also been called upon to teach lessons or masterclasses at such institutions as New York University, the Eastman School of Music, Temple University, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, SUNY Purchase, the University of Nebraska, and the New York Youth Symphony Jazz Orchestra.
In addition to his activities as a sideman and educator, Basile also takes an active role as leader of his own quartet, quintet and sextet. To date, Basile has released three recordings as a leader, and his band has headlined at many of New York's major jazz clubs.

Neal Miner was introduced to the world of jazz by his first teacher – his father Bill Miner, a respected jazz record collector and discographer. Bill's love of jazz kindled a passion in his son from an early age. Bill shared the music of his vast record collection, took Neal to clubs and concerts, and ensured he received the best musical instruction.
Born and raised in Manhattan, Neal received his high school diploma from the Interlochen Arts Academy, and attended the Manhattan School of Music. Most notable of his private teachers were classical bassist, Orin O’Brien of the New York Philharmonic, and jazz bassist, John Webber.
Since the age of 19, Neal has been a solid fixture on the New York City jazz scene and is a favored bassist to a host of musicians, both rising jazz stars (Larry Goldings, Harry Allen, Russell Malone, Peter Bernstein, David Hazeltine, Dena Derose, Ann Hampton Callaway, Loston Harris), and jazz legends (James Moody, Frank Wess, David Allyn, Eddie Locke, Etta Jones, Bob Dorough, Warren Vaché). Neal has toured and recorded with Jon Hendricks since 1998, and has been backing Annie Ross steadily since 2005 at her weekly engagement at the Metropolitan Room in New York City. In 2007, Neal joined Jane Monheit’s band with which he has been performing at major festivals, jazz clubs and concert halls around the world. Neal has written arrangements for and plays on Jane's last two albums, The Lovers, The Dreamers, and Me, and Home.
Neal has four CD releases as a leader that showcase his compositions and arrangements. In 2000, his debut CD, The Real Neal, was released on the Juniper Records label. In 2006, The Evening Sound, was released on the Smalls Records label. In 2010, Neal released his CD, Happy Hour, on the Gut String Records label. Paul Wells began playing drums at the age of ten in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. He moved to the New York area to attend the renowned jazz studies program at William Paterson University, and has studied privately with John Riley, Kenny Washington, and Bill Stewart. Paul is currently touring internationally with Curtis Stigers, and is a member of Vince Giordano's Nighthawks. He has also performed and/or recorded with Deborah Harry, Joe Williams, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, The Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis, Elvis Costello, Diana Krall, Randy Brecker, Mark Murphy, Nellie McKay, Kristin Chenoweth, Ann Hampton Callaway, Norman Simmons, and Houston Person. He was also featured on the soundtracks of The Irishman, Joker, Boardwalk Empire, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Paul is a faculty member of The Juilliard School, is a contributing writer for Modern Drummer magazine, and endorses Istanbul Agop Cymbals and Vic Firth drumsticks.
