About

Early in her career, Brandi was supported by jazz legend Oscar Peterson who compared her to his late bassist Ray Brown. Hailing from Vancouver, Brandi began performing as a teenager with her mother, a jazz organist/pianist originally from Chicago. She has recorded with Hank Jones, Renee Rosnes, and appears on the Smoke Sessions Records under saxophonist/bandleader Vincent Herring. Brandi's 4th album "Blue Canvas" features Harold Mabern and Joe Farnsworth showcasing her sultry voice, innovative compositions, and her healthy respect for the bottom.
Onstage, Kenny Washington is the Superman of the Bay Area jazz scene, a vocalist with an exuberantly supple tenor that glides effortlessly into the stratosphere. Capable of astounding improvisational flights, he can also croon like a '70s soul star (think Donny Hathaway or Al Green), with an emotional intensity that's bracing. -- the San Francisco Chronicle"If you have never heard Kenny Washington sing before, get ready for a jaw dropping experience. Kenny is a jazz vocalist virtuoso. Emulating the classic styles of Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn, infusing colors of Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway, Kenny's free, playful approach . . . is awe inspiring." -- AllaboutJazz.com weblinks:www.myspace.com/kennywashingtonjazzvocalist
