Nitzan Gavrieli Trio

Nitzan Gavrieli is a New York-based jazz pianist and composer who is a vital force on the city’s jazz scene. His music expands on the traditional jazz piano trio format, blending elements of classical music and Middle Eastern influences into a sound that is both distinctive and emotionally rich. In addition to leading his own trio, Nitzan is an in-demand sideman, arranger, and collaborator. He has recorded and performed with world-renowned artists such as Dennis Chambers, Mike Stern, Melissa Aldana, Francisco Mela, Mark Murphy, Chris Cheek, Steve Cardenas, Jamie Baum, and many others. His versatility and sensitivity at the piano have made him a valued contributor to dozens of albums and projects across genres. Nitzan is the featured pianist on the 2025 GRAMMY-winning album Bianca Reimagined (Best Large Jazz Ensemble) and the GRAMMY-nominated track Little Fears by Dan Pugach and Nicole Zuraitis (Best Jazz Performance). He has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, performing at major jazz festivals and venues, including Town Hall, The Kennedy Center, Blue Note, Birdland, Smalls Jazz Club, Mezzrow, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Marians Jazzroom (Bern), Jazz Federation (Hamburg), Unterfahrt (Munich), the Tel Aviv and Red Sea Jazz Festivals, Sudtirol Jazz Festival, Bern Jazz Festival, Rochester Jazz Festival, Yardbird Suite, and The Rex in Canada, among many others. Nitzan also serves as musical director for Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks in her musical collective SLP & the Joyful Noise, with recent arrangements featured in NYC’s Summer Art Series on Little Island. Nitzan holds a BFA from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, and a Masters in Music from the City College of New York. Currently, he is preparing to record his second trio album, slated for release in 2026. Originally from Montreal, Rick Rosato moved to New York City in 2007 to study at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. He quickly became one of the most in-demand jazz bassists and has been maintaining an international performance schedule since. In 2010, he led a three-month-long artist series at the Upstairs Jazz Club in Montreal, where he formed several different groups featuring some of today’s most influential voices in jazz, including the co-led trio “Stranahan/Zaleski/Rosato”. In the summer of 2014, Rick competed for the TD Jazz Awards at the Montreal International Jazz Festival with his own trio and won the Galaxie Jazz Award for best composition. He is regularly touring internationally and recording with groups such as Gilad Hekselman, Joel Ross, Melissa Aldana, Stranahan/Zaleski/Rosato, Ben Van Gelder, David Kikoski, and Will Vinson. Rick has also performed with Billy Hart, Peter Bernstein, Mark Turner, Dayna Stephens, Chris Potter, Aaron Parks, Bill Stewart, Marcus Gilmore, Jeff Ballard, Ari Hoenig, Mike Moreno, Lage Lund, Charles Altura, and many more. Rick’s sense of form, melody and harmony are as apparent as his perfect technical execution.” - Ben van Gelder Eviatar Slivnik is an Israeli born drummer currently studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. At 8 years old Eviatar was accepted to study at the highly esteemed Arison School of Arts in Tel Aviv, an honor at such a young age. Continuing his education at the Thelma Yellin High School of Arts, Eviatar was given the opportunity to perform with the jazz group ‘Sharp 5’ at the Savannah Jazz Festival in Septmber of 2011, alongside greats such as Wycliffe Gordon & Pat Martino. During this time he was also awarded not only the outstanding Musician Award from the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sports but also the Jazz Category America-Israel Foundation Scholarship, both huge honors in the Israeli music scene. Graduating Thelma Yellin High School of Arts in 2013 with a certificate in excellence from the Jazz Department, the opportunity arose for Eviatar to further his studies at the Rimon Jazz Institute on a program linked to Berklee College of Music, which required two years of study at Rimon in Israel & two years in Boston, Massachusetts, to where he is now situated. During his first two years of study in Israeli, Eviatar was given the opportunity to perform with some of the worlds leading jazz musicians including: Avishai Cohen, Mark Whitfield, Tamir Grinberg and perhaps most notably, Eli Degibri. Eviatar has become a core member of Eli’s band touring all over Europe & performing at world-class venues such as Duc De Lombards (Paris), Cube 251 (Luxemburg), Nancy Jazz (Nancy) & Dizzy’s Coca-Cola Club, part of the Lincoln Center in New York City. With various other artists he has also performed in Spain, Germany as well as some of the worlds leading jazz festivals such as the Tel Aviv Jazz Festival, Jerusalem Jazz Festival & the Red Sea Jazz Festival. Amongst his busy performance schedule, in February 2015 Eviatar also was given the opportunity after winning the award for Best Jazz Performer at Rimon Jazz Institute, to participate in the International Association of Schools of Jazz Conference (IASJ) in Portugal, led by jazz legend Dave Liebman. In September 2016 Eviatar was awarded a full scholarship from Berklee College of Music & the Bracha Foundation and has since began studying with some of the universities most sought out teachers including Darren Barrett & Bob Gullotti. This scholarship is given to the top percentage of entering students each year and is highly sought after. Since his relocation to the United States of America Eviatar has been fortunate enough to perform at festivals such as the Beantown Jazz Festival in Boston, Massachusetts, & at the JAMM Festival in Denver, Colorado. He continues to maintain a busy schedule and expects to graduate from Berklee College of Music with his Bachelors Degree in May 2018, pursuing a career in jazz performance.
