As the leading light behind the label, SHDW’s canny ear and exacting taste shines through in everything he does. His sets are true thrill rides - dynamic, visceral experiences that hook you in from the first track and do not let go. Phil Berg’s recent “Dārin” EP on the label is front-to-back excellent, with a mixture of cinematic scale and reverberant, factory-like percussive flourishes. Developed from the more open-ended material in his lauded live set, the EP has already become a staple in sets by SHDW and many others. Regent recently helped the label kick off its "Versus" series with an exemplary collection of top shelf floor fillers. Tracks like “Emphemera” show the producer working at the height of his powers, crafting a delicate mixture of heartfelt melodicism and tight, driving sound design. Finally, Hemke completes the lineup. A quintessential Mutual Rytm artist, Henke’s balance of shadowy menace and fully-absorbing propulsion, complete with a proper dose of her own vocals, matches the label’s ethos to a tee.
JADALAREIGN and Mike Servito return to STUDIO, representing complimentary masterclasses in true house music. “I think that the Black American underground serves as an inspiration for a lot of the music and nightlife culture that we see today,” JADALAREIGN said in an interview, “but isn't always platformed in a way that is deserved.” She is one of the voices who is actively setting the record straight, honoring generations of Black artistry from across the spectrum, including “house, techno, disco, acid, soul, jack.” But LAREIGN’s sets aren’t rooted in nostalgia. Though he’s spent the last couple decades immersed in NYC, setting the standard for a couple generations of DJs who came up in his wake, the spirit of the Motor City remains embedded in his mixing. Across his tenure as a resident for The Bunker NY and as one of the most widely respected house DJs on the planet, Servito has made his name by keeping it unwaveringly real. Saia returns to the room.
