This artist does not have a bio yet. Vanisha Gould is a creative vocalist, composer, and bandleader from Simi Valley, California. Since moving to New York in 2015 she has become a vibrant voice in the city’s jazz scene. A stylist with soul influenced by Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Sarah Vaughan, and Ella Fitzgerald, she is described as a singular talent with an elegant, impactful, and memorable stage presence. Gould’s artistry reflects a deep respect for tradition while boldly exploring her own musical narrative. She has performed internationally in Russia, Sweden, and at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, and captivated audiences at NYC staples such as Smalls Jazz Club, Dizzy’s Club, Minton’s Playhouse, and The Django. In 2024, she was awarded a New Jazz Works Artist Residency at The Jazz Gallery. Vanisha Gould continues to craft music that is personal, powerful, and deeply rooted in jazz tradition. This artist does not have a bio yet. Soon after arriving to NYC Argentina-born Israeli baritone saxophonist Eden Bareket quickly gained notice and esteem as an in-demand Sideman. Indeed Bareket's collaborative projects show an eclectic streak, as is horn playing ranges from the adventurous Ari Hoenig Nonet and the modern classic Eyal Vilner Big-Band; through traditional Moroccan Gnawa of Samir Langus group, the Ethiopian jazz inspired grooves of Anbessa Orchestra and even the energetic pop-oriented Saxophone quartet The Side Project. As his star has continued to rise, Bareket has also woven these disparate musical strands together in his own leader projects. His latest project, Zaman, is dedicated to his extended family. From Bagdad to Buenos Aires, through eastern Europe and Morocco, Eden's compositions explore the deep yearning that drove his ancestors to disperse around the globe and the traditions that brought them together. Iranian-American bassist, Sam Minaie, was born in Reno, Nevada and started piano lessons at age 8. At age 14, he switched to electric and upright bass and was granted numerous command performances in classical bass performance while beginning to also work professionally in all styles of music around the Reno/Tahoe area. Sam was granted a full scholarship and received a Bachelor of Arts in Classical and Jazz Performance at the University of Nevada, Reno. He then moved to Los Angeles where, under scholarship, he received a Masters of Fine Arts in Jazz Studies at California Institute of the Arts. At CalArts, Sam studied with Charlie Haden and African Ewe master, Alfred Ladzekpo as well as a broad range of other world music masters. While in Los Angeles, Sam quickly made a name for himself as one of the most sought-after bassists on the scene and moved to New York in May of 2009. He has toured extensively throughout several countries around the world and has been recorded on dozens of albums with artists including Peter Epstein, Ralph Alessi, Ravi Coltrane, Tigran Hamasyan, Peter Apfelbaum, John Ellis, David Ake, Mark Ferber, Gary Versace, Joe LaBarbera, Roy McCurdy, Bob Sheppard, Brian Lynch, John Beasley, Tootie Heath, Sara Gazarek, Larry Koonse, Patti Austin, Butch Morris, Vinny Golia, Adam Benjamin, Ben Wendel, Tim Ries, Tim Hagans, Kenny Werner, Vince Mendoza, Patrick Williams, New Century Players Ensemble, Alfred Ladzekpos Ewe Ensemble, Lian Ensemble (Persian Classical Music), Bill Holman Orchestra, and the Clayton/Hamilton Orchestra. As well as being a bassist, Sam has produced and mixed several albums, and is active as a session cellist.
