Eternal Wind takes music written for imaginary worlds and uses it as a launchpad - "Dearly Beloved" from Kingdom Hearts, "To Zanarkand" and the final approach to the ruins in Final Fantasy X, the haunted "Lost Woods" of The Legend of Zelda - rebuilding the feeling of an open world through collective modern jazz improvisation.
Guitarist Owen Chen leads the New York-based ensemble, drawing on bebop, post-bop, and contemporary jazz with threads of classical, world music, pop, and R&B running through it. BroadwayWorld called their arrangements "tender, almost aching"; Paris-Move described a sound with "a cinematic quality, painting landscapes and characters through melody... offering listeners not just music but immersive worlds." Their debut album The Ghibli Collection is out now on Origin Records.
