Dayna Kurtz held the release of her 2001 seminal debut Postcards From Downtown at Joe's Pub with special guests, the legendary Richie Havens and brilliant, eclectic string quartet ETHEL, who played on the disc. It only feels right that she hold her 25th anniversary, re-mixed and re-mastered for vinyl show back where it all began. Dayna will also be joined by members of her New Orleans band, Lulu and the Broadsides, and the original Postcards from Downtown rhythm section. About the record in question, The Washington Post wrote "Dayna Kurtz’s voice is a deep-hued garnet of lifeblood and beauty" and in the Netherlands where this record went to number 1, their paper of note, NRC, wrote "Unbelievably beautiful...everything falls breathtakingly together: lyrics, melody, and that tremendous voice...Mitchell, Piaf, Holiday -Kurtz belongs alongside such huge names."
