About
Abolitionist Place is a 1.15?acre public park in Downtown Brooklyn that opened in May 2024, honoring the neighborhood’s 19th?century abolitionist history adjacent to landmarked 227 Duffield Street. The space features a lawn, seating, children’s play area, water feature, and dog run, and hosts community performances and programs in partnership with the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. Public art by Kenseth Armstead is planned for the site, reinforcing its role as a civic gathering place steps from City Point and the Fulton Street Mall.
