The Center is New York City’s LGBTQ+ community hub, housed in a historic former public school building at 208 West 13th Street and operating since the early 1980s. It hosts programs, meetings, arts events, and features Keith Haring’s 1989 “Once Upon a Time” bathroom mural, a noted cultural landmark. Located in the West Village between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, it’s walkable to nearby Chelsea/14th Street destinations.
