Ethan Iverson (born February 11, 1973) is an American pianist, composer, and critic who co-founded the influential trio The Bad Plus and served as its pianist until his departure at the end of 2017. He authors the long-running blog Do the Math, has written for outlets including The New Yorker, NPR and The Nation, and has released leader albums on labels such as Blue Note. Iverson also composes for chamber and orchestral projects and teaches and performs with a variety of ensembles.
